Make a Difference Celebration a Success!

The 2nd Annual Make a Difference Celebration held on Sunday, April 10 at the Fleur De Lis Center in Mandeville was a success! At the event, we honored and celebrated people in the community who have made a difference in the lives of our youth. The honorees were: Theresa Braud, Brother Raymond Bulliard, The Giraud Family, Paula Gomila, Reva Henegar, Susanne Hepburn, Officer James Kindler, Julius and Deanna Laurent, Connie Lazaro, Zach McLain, Lisa Migliore, Brandt Quick and Judy Nesser. Thank you for being difference makers!

Special thanks goes out to everyone who made the night a success!! Looking forward to an even bigger and more successful celebration next year!

Fun times at the PRIDE/Amplify Reunion on December 26

Despite the cold, rainy weather, the alumni reunion was a blast! Lots of laughter filled the room as the 50 alumni gathered around various “End of the Year” videos to reminisce their years in PRIDE/Amplify. The event started off with a brief performance by the current Amplify Youth members and then everyone shared great stories from some of their favorite times in the troupe. Music from past performances was played and some alumni actually got up and tried to remember each step they were once taught in high school. Overall, the reunion was a great success for people to reconnect and enjoy the holidays even more.

Red Ribbon Week Celebration in Heritage Park a Success!

Our celebration to kickoff Red Ribbon Week last Monday, October 25th, was a huge success! The event was held in Heritage Park in Slidell. We had a costume contest, a cherry pie-eating contest, a cake walk and many games for all ages to play. The turnout was incredible!

Congratulations to the winners of our raffles! The winners received a Saint’s Superbowl Signature Football and a pair of tickets to see the New Orleans Zephyrs.

A big thank you goes out to all of our volunteers! Without all of you, the night would not have been so successful! We also want to thank the U.S. Marshalls, DEA and Louisiana State Police for participating in our event. We also want to send out thanks to Cleco, Popeye’s, Sweet Daddy’s of Covington, Playville, The Slidell Women’s Civic Club and all others who helped make this night possible.

We look forward to an even bigger and better event next year!

Amplify announces Red Ribbon Week 2010 plans

To kick off Red Ribbon Week, Amplify will be holding a 25th anniversary Red Ribbon Week Celebration in Heritage Park, Slidell on Monday, October 25, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. This is a fun family event with a costume contest for ages 0-12, a cherry pie eating contest, music, games, face painting and much more. This is a free event to celebrate 25 years of Red Ribbon Week. Come out and show your support!

Red Ribbon Week is October 24-31 this year and Amplify has a lot of activities planned for our area schools.

Winner of Hurtigruten Cruise Raffle Chosen

Hurtigruten Cruise

On September 9, 2010, Amplify Resources drew the winner of the cruise raffle for a 7 night cruise aboard a beautiful Hurtigruten Voyage in Norway. Stacy Brown was chosen in the raffle. Stacy and her husband, Brent, have a daughter, Mary-Brent Brown, who is a member of Amplify Youth. Congrats to the Brown family and thanks to everyone who participated in the raffle and supported Amplify!

Amplify kicks off Annual Giving Drive

Amplify has begun its annual giving drive for the 2010 – 2011 year. We have a goal of connecting with 500 people who will make a pledge to support Amplify Resources. It doesn’t matter if your donation is $5 per month or $500 per month. Every amount makes a difference and helps to provide quality leadership and drug prevention programs for the community. Amplify Youth Premier Performance

Amplify Youth will have its premier performance on Tuesday, 7-27-10, at 7:00 p.m. in the Fontainebleau High School Auditorium. The performance will conclude with a dessert reception in the cafeteria. Amplify will also kick off its annual giving campaign with a goal to recruit 500 monthly pledges to support Amplify. To make a pledge now, please go to our donation page.
